Because this group is broad, judging a listing on freshness, turnover and how consistent recent reviews are tends to work better than judging by decor or price range alone. Most kitchens in Scotia will adjust a dish for common dietary needs like gluten-free or vegetarian if you ask when ordering. Hours vary widely: diners and fast-food chains often stay open late or around the clock, while bakeries and cafes tend to open early and close mid-afternoon. Scotia is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Scotia is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across New York's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

I typically go during lunch hours. I've tried many items and each one was great. Many healthy options. Every sushi roll I've tried has been amazing. They've happily made substitutions. The staff is friendly and attentive. I go far too often but it's definitely worth it. It gets very busy in the evening. You can always seat yourself at the bar. Tables require being seated. There may be a short wait during peak hours.

Grew up in Scotia, so I've been getting Chinese food from this location literally for decades. They used to make the best fried rice I have ever tasted (to this day), but each time I visit, it's more disappointing than the last. I took a friend here for her birthday dinner last night (it used to be her favorite spot), and both of our meals were just "meh"โextremely mediocre for the price. While it might still be a decent lunch option, the dinner dishes feel overpriced for what you get compared to similar spots in the area. The atmosphere didn't help either; it was so loud inside that we couldn't hold a normal conversation and had to keep raising our voices or repeating ourselves. Sadly, we agreed last night will be our last time here. On the positive side, our waitress last night was acceptable and attentive, which is an improvement from past visits where service was extremely slow (or non-existent after plates were dropped on the table). Also, credit where it's due: they have one of the cleanest bathrooms Iโve ever seen in a Chinese restaurant. However, front-of-house logistics need work. Upon entering, I noted signs stating "Cash is King," so after dinner, I obliged at the regi

The service was good. She was very attentive , accurate and knowledgeable. I ordered a futomaki roll a pacific roll California roll and a Las Vegas roll gyoza and dumplings an egg roll and everything was absolutely perfect. The tempura banana dish was absolutely amazing too. I couldnโt be happier and everything was fresh. I highly recommend and will definitely be back.

My husband took me here yesterday for Valentine's Day. We went around 1:00 there was probably another five parties there having lunch so wasn't extremely horribly busy. Our waiter was very grumpy and acted like he didn't want us to be there. I heard him several times when he was passing by or putting things into the computer which we were kind of sitting next to Grumble to himself and do some heavy sighing and breathing. We we're sat down and never had a drink order put in but they did give us our menu. We put our drink order in with our food order. I am giving this place a three stars because they had probably some of the best egg rolls I've ever had. We ordered six of them and the weird thing was is some of them were extremely hot and some of them were kind of cold so I take that as they were not cooked at the same time or microwaved? I got the chicken tempura which was good but just a lot of fried things and not a lot of substance and my pieces of vegetable or actually pretty huge. Also my rice was cold. The vegetables actually had to be cut several times so I could eat them they were definitely not bite size for sure. The breading did taste good though and slightly greasy. My s
